Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for an After-Hours Answering Service Virtual Receptionist to join our team!JOB SUMMARY: The Virtual Receptionist acts as an after-hours answering service for providers. Will courteously answer the phone by greeting the caller, identifying themselves, and then relay messages to the appropriate provider/office. Asks appropriate and clarifying questions to obtain information necessary to be able to relay accurate messages to provider. Benefits include:Medical, Dental and Vision InsurancePaid Time Off (vacation, holidays and sick days) and Medical Paid Time OffRetirement Plans (401K with up to 6% match)Earned Quarterly Bonus ProgramEducation Reimbursement ProgramDiscount for medically necessary procedures performed at Idaho Falls Community Hospital and Mountain View HospitalPlease note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:After-Hours Answering Service Virtual Receptionist:Receives and documents (via log) all telephone calls from the answering service or after hour line and discerns patient needs in accordance with appropriate standards, policies, and procedures.Provides consultation and telephone instruction to patients in accordance with their plan of care.Communicates with the patient's provider by thoroughly completing documentation utilizing the appropriate computer software in compliance with approved policies and procedures.Utilizes all resources and guidelines at their disposal to effectively prioritize, advise (within their scope of practice), or refer calls when necessary to the appropriate medical facility, personnel or specialized service.Refers patients to appropriate medical facilities or providers for care, utilizing approved guidelines as indicated by policy.Effectively and promptly returns calls, when necessary.Leaves clear and informative voicemail messages.Communicates general information to appropriate personnel, patients, or guests. Able to communicate appropriate medical terminology and relate well with patients, providers, staff, and management.Demonstrates and utilizes good listening skills.Maintains an organized workspace and functions well during stressful periods or situations.Treats all persons with respect and dignity, including but not limited to patients, families, physicians, employees, etc.Ensures patient records or other patient information is kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policy.ABOUT IDAHO FALLS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL:At Idaho Falls Community Hospital, helping our community get better is our number one priority. Required current or previous CNA or CMA license or Experience as a Healthcare Receptionist.6 months experience in the healthcare settings. Preference given to healthcare receptionist experience.Proficient in computer software such as MS Office and Excel. Has the ability to learn complex phone systems, hospital information system, and various EMR systems.Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English. Preference given to bilingual candidates. Must communicate well with providers, coworkers, patients and their families, and other facilities. Must be good at listening and pay close attention to detail.Ability to do basic math calculations.Able to define problems, collect data and deal with stressful situations in a tactful professional manner and adapt well to changes in work environments/situations. A clear understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality and sensitivity regarding complex health problems. Can make sound decisions and good judgment. Must have the ability to prioritize as needed.Must have excellent interpersonal skills andmaintain positive and professional work relationships will allpatients, family members, providers, and coworkers.Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff. Strives for daily excellence in all verbal and non-verbal communications. Must be able to work independently.
