Women and People of Color are strongly encouraged to apply.Responsibilities Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a QualityAssurance Engineer to provide Quality Engineering support to SMC to ensurecompliance with DOE, Laboratory, and customer specific requirements applicableto Quality Assurance Program. As assigned review designs, planning, safetybasis documents, material requisitions, and procedures for compliance withestablished INL QA program requirements. Advise management and personnel of andprovide solutions to quality compliance and implementation issues. Review andapprove work control documents and input quality hold and inspection points.Develop quality inspection requirements.Ensure compliance with company, corporate, and DOE quality requirements. Assistin developing appropriate quality program and project requirements. Provideinput for solutions to repair and design issues for SMC facilities, usingingenuity and innovation. Provide quality program support to Engineers in newstructure, system and component (SSC) design, and development. Provideoversight to verify applicable construction codes and consensus standards areimplemented during design, fabrication, and construction of new SSC's. Providequality program consulting to line managers making recommendations for properimplementation of quality program requirements and processimprovement. Perform assessments to determine compliance with andimplementation of company QA Program requirements. Ensure quality programweakness and areas for process improvement are properly identified and resolvedusing the INL Issues Management process. Mentors peers and engineers indeveloping and maintaining INL quality program requirements.Provide oversight, direction and examinations in Nondestructive Testing (NDE)disciplines certified or qualified in as required based on project needs. Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/orExperience): Bachelors degree in a technical field, plus 5 years relevant experience, oradvanced degree and 3 years relevant experience. Must have strong background in various nuclear industry codes and consensusstandards.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L security clearance.Background, training and experience in RT, MT, PT, UT, and VT. Capable ofobtaining INL Quality Inspector Level II or III certifications for RT, UT, MT,PT, and VT (SNT-TC-l A). INL Quality Engineer qualificationRadworker II qualification Special Requirements and/or Training: Must have a good understanding and knowledge of quality management concepts and practices and be familiar with quality assurance codes, standards, and regulations. Must have a working knowledge of the technical and practical sides of quality engineering. Must have experience reviewing technical engineering reports, designs, and inspection plans. Previous NDE qualifications in RT, UT, MT, VT and other inspection qualifications such as dimensional and leak testing is beneficial. Excellent oral and written communications skills are necessary. Experience writing procedures and conducting assessments is desired. Demonstrated ability to perform independent quality program surveillances and assessment. Strong working knowledge of American Welding Standard (AWS) requirements and capability for obtaining certification as American Welding Society QC-1 certified welding inspector. Ability to pursue AWS Weld Inspector certification and ASNT NDT Level III certifications in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiographic Testing and Ultrasonic Testing, and Neutron Radiographic Testing.
