Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Criticality Safety
Engineer to prepare and perform criticality safety prevention and
criticality accident evaluations for problems with occasional
direction, using state-of-the art methods and tools supporting INL
projects and operations. These tools include MCNP or SCALE. The
evaluations must meet the requirements of DOE-STD-3007 and
ANSI/ANS-8 standards, as well as support research, and meet
Apply expertise in the principles of nuclear physics, chemistry,
mathematics, mechanics of materials.
Represent Criticality Safety Engineering under direction for
criticality safety issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION AND/OR
Level 1 - BS Degree in Nuclear Engineering or related STEM
Level 2 - BS Degree in Nuclear Engineering plus 2 years relevant
experience, or an Advanced Degree in Nuclear Engineering plus 1
year relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR TRAINING:
Must be familiar in the use and application of the MCNP or SCALE
Must be familiar in the use of the LINUX based operating
Must hold the criticality safety engineer qualification
SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
