The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at Idaho National Laboratory
(INL) is seeking applicants for Equipment Configuration Management
Engineer (ECME) in support of research & development for nuclear,
radiological and / or non-nuclear facility activities. The position
is organized within the Facility and Systems Engineering Department
within the Engineering Division at MFC.
INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE,
providing much of the nuclear research, development, and
demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward
to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel,
facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform
research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design,
development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.
Equipment Configuration Management engineers independently
evaluate, select and apply engineering techniques and coordinate
with System Engineers to complete configuration requirements for
systems in nuclear, radiological, and non-nuclear facilities at
MFC. In coordination with the Configuration Management Engineer
(CME), the ECME will be responsible for meeting all requirements of
the INL Configuration Management Program for the MFC Engineering
Directorate. Key functions of the role are:
Coordinates the completion of configuration management requirements
related to information in the Configuration Management Database
(Master Equipment List (MEL).
Track engineering requirements and ensure System Engineers are
meeting due dates for system requirements.
Issue and track all Engineering Jobs (EJs)
Responsible for assigning unique identifiers for all equipment at
the MFC for new and existing systems, structures and
Perform special engineering assignments as directed by the MFC
Lead and participate in management self-assessments and
surveillances as assigned.
Develop Lessons Learned information and submit to the lessons
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a
Department of Energy (DOE) Security Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience
or Master's Degree and 3 years.
Relevant experience includes a background in configuration
management or operational experience with systems in nuclear
