Responsibilities
The National and Homeland Security Department at INL is seeking candidates for Cellular Communications Engineer. In this role, you will work with the Wireless Test Bed supporting a wide variety of national security and critical infrastructure initiatives aimed at strengthening security and resiliency.

You will provide technical advice and support for design, fielding, and operation of a variety of wireless communications equipment in support of R&D, systems integration, performance evaluations, and full-scale testing at INL's Next Generation Wireless Test Bed and Critical Infrastructure Test Range. You will also participate in all maintenance and troubleshooting on WTB Cellular networks, as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Provide mentoring and training for all WTB technicians on Cellular network operations and maintenance

Participate in Cellular software and hardware upgrades and new cellular related projects

Participate in requirements gathering for customer cellular testing activities as requested

Maintain technical knowledge and expertise for cellular systems

Represent the WTB on new business opportunities and customer related working groups that pertain to Cellular systems as requested. Share knowledge and experience and provide advisement to Principal Researchers, Project Engineers, Management, and Customers for 2G/3G/4G system configuration, switch operation, and troubleshooting. Manage relationship with primary cellular vendors, keeping abreast of current technology opportunities and key vendor contacts.
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "Q" Security Clearance

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience with cellular technologies with a primary focus on cellular system installation, design, and implementation, switch maintenance and operation, troubleshooting. 10 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
