The Procurement Engineer Services (PES) Engineer must be able to fully understand and translate technical ideas into formal technical requirements documents that will be created by line of business engineers so that the requirements can be satisfied by the Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP) supply base. The Procurement Engineer will team with laboratory engineers/requestors in developing adequate technical specifications, ensuring that the correct quality assurance requirements are invoked, providing engineering training to requestors on the proper methods to developing high quality technical requirements and support laboratory engineers and requestors in resolving technical issues that develop during the course of a contract. The Procurement Engineer will also be responsible to work to evaluate potential suppliers based on the future business needs of FMP. The Procurement Engineer will establish the standards for quality technical specifications. Individuals in this group will be required to have a breadth of engineering knowledge to create and maintain a FMP wide requisitioning manual/process, own and maintain corporate instructions. In addition, the PES Engineer will be responsible to recommend, perform and implement process improvements (i.e apply lean/6 sigma principles to technical and procurement related processes, participate/facilitate in events as practical, track and monitor these items). The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid organizational skills, strong relationship building and influencing skills, and a desire to drive standardization of procurement processes across all sites.

Job Requirements

Advanced:

Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience

Senior:

Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience

Job Preferred Skills

Familiarity with business systems/applications - Oracle, SAP, Office Suite

Understanding of procurement and/or supply chain through related coursework or prior experience
