Idaho National Lab (INL) will change the world's energy future and

INL is seeking experienced Criticality Safety Engineers to support
the USDOE Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. In this capacity
the candidate will be involved in the development, review, and
implementation of criticality safety documentation for various
- Provide technical assistance in developing nuclear safety
documents and analyses, technical safety requirements, and related
technical support documentation.
- Ensure that the developed nuclear safety documentation complies
with requirements and, as necessary, applicable controls are
implemented in field procedures.
- Performs or participates in surveillance, inspections,
walkthroughs, appraisals, or audits of fissile material operations
to ensure compliance with Nuclear Criticality Safety Approvals,
Nuclear Safety rules, including Safety Analysis Reports, Safety
Assessments, Safety Reviews, and risk assessments/analyses.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 5 years' experience, OR
Masters & 3 years' experience, OR Doctorate & 2 years'
- Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment
Preference for experience as in the following areas:
- Select and widely apply reactor physics principles, theories,
- Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a
wide range of complex, ambiguous, and/or difficult problems.
- Have a key role in defining technical approach and setting
technical directions for solving problems and meeting client
- Be responsible for implementing strategies necessary to meet
key programmatic or organizational objectives dependent upon
decisions or recommendations.
- Lead peer review work within organization and be sought out for
peer review by others.
- Enhance technical/professional skills of junior staff through
active mentoring and training as well as build (as appropriate)
high performance teams across organizations.
- Proactively identify, promote, and develop appropriate new
technical capabilities within division.
- Work with only occasional oversight on specific assignment
objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
- Select and develop technical approach to assignment. INL is a
