works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our TREAT facility with
every Friday off!Responsibilities Include:The Materials & Fuels
Complex is seeking candidates for a TREAT Reactor Operator /
Mechanic. If you want to be part of enabling the next generation of
nuclear energy, this is the position for you!The Transient Test
Reactor (TREAT) is a reactor capable of controlled prompt critical
operations, reaching power levels of 16,000 MW. This specifically
includes operation of the reactor in both low power as well
transient operating modes. This position is responsible for
performing operation, maintenance, and modifications on TREAT
reactor systems. This position is also responsible for the
mechanical maintenance of critical reactor equipment such as
control rod drives (Control/Shutdown, Compensation/Shutdown &
Transient) & SCRAM air systems.This position is responsible to the
TREAT Operations & Shift Manager for the operation of the TREAT
reactor and experiments in a safe and efficient manner as specified
in TREAT Program documents. This position will, as assigned, write
and review procedures, perform operational tasks such as
establishing the transient testing prescriptions and settings for
the Automatic Reactor Control System (ARCS) including the Dedicated
Micro-Processor Tester (DMT), and the Reactor Trip System (RTS) as
required by TREAT Reactor Engineering and the experiment sponsors.
Proper setup of these systems is critical because the transient
testing prescriptions entered in the ARCS are what provide the
reactor control to accomplish the transient operation of the
reactor enabling successful and safe experiment irradiations.The
TREAT Maintenance Manager, performing maintenance, and
modifications on TREAT reactor systems. This position is also
responsible for the mechanical maintenance of critical reactor
equipment such as control rod drives (Control/Shutdown,
Compensation/Shutdown & Transient) & SCRAM air systems.The TREAT
Engineering Manager, to monitor system health including development
of plans for improving system safety and reliability.Minimum
