Description:
Radiological Controls Engineering is seeking a Senior
Engineer/Compliance Engineer. Radiological Controls
Engineers are responsible to establish and oversee
implementation of the standards for incorporating
radiological controls into technical work documents
(TWDs). Specific duties for the Radiological Controls
Engineer include but are not limited to:
* Reviewing and concurring with TWDs for jobs with
significant radiological consequences.
* Performing audits of documents and records.
* Driving innovation and improvement in all areas of
radiological controls.
The essential duties for a Radiological Controls
Engineer may include:
* Responsibility for all aspects of assigned tasks
with guidance on non-routine tasks and occasional
guidance on routine tasks.
* Responsibility for study, design, application,
analyses and/or preparation of specifications for
systems, materials, equipment, or components. Team
with others to ensure integration of activities and
plans.
* Provide oversight and assessment of facility
performance in a specific area with knowledge in
multiple areas including, but not limited to
Environmental, Safety, and Health; radiological
controls; quality assurance; waste management;
emergency planning; and fire protection.
* Provide well developed subject matter expert support
and review of both routine and complex procedures
and specifications for compliance with regulatory
and Program requirements.
* Develop and prepare procedures implementing
engineering, design, operational, and/or regulatory
requirements in a specific area of specialization.
* Track compliance with specific local, state, and
federal requirements.
* Follow and develop initiatives to improve the
facility engineering, design, operational, and/or
compliance posture.
* Prepare required regulatory and periodic operational
reports.
* Serve as team lead in a specified area to complete
periodic vertical and horizontal assessments of
facility work.
* Maintain and review facility records for
completeness to ensure documentation is compliant.
* Investigate and analyze instances of non-conformance
to requirements to assist in corrective action
development, trending, and make recommendations for
improvement to management.
* Review metrics measuring engineering, design,
operational, and/or compliance performance.
* Prepare for site inspections and regulatory
interfaces.
* Maintain and improve knowledge level in specific
engineering, design, operational, and/or compliance
areas through mentors and review of regulatory
source materials.
* May perform other duties as assigned.
The essential duties for Advanced and Senior
Engineer/Compliance Engineer can be found on the HR

This job description covers numerous positions with

position.
Requirements:
Education requirements for a Senior Engineer:
* BS degree in a engineering from an accredited
college or university and a minimum of six years
relevant experience based on exceptional performance
trend; or
* MS degree in engineering from an accredited college
or university and a minimum of four years relevant
experience based on exceptional performance trend.
Education requirements for a Senior Compliance Engineer:
* BS degree in technical or science related field from
an accredited college or university and a minimum of
six years of relevant experience based on
exceptional performance trend; or
* MS degree in technical or science related field from
an accredited college or university and a minimum of
four years of relevant experience based on
exceptional performance trend.
The successful candidate will also be required to
complete and maintain the following qualifications or
certification programs. Details on these programs are
available during the interviewing process.
* Radiation or Contamination Worker
* Engineer of Radiological Work
* Engineer of Nuclear Work
