DESCRIPTIONAs a part of our Electrical Engineering Design Team, you will develop electrical design drawings (one-lines, grounding plans, power distribution, panel schedules, lighting layouts, control diagrams, fixture schedules, riser diagrams, rack layouts, connections details, etc.). You will prepare construction specifications and calculations to support the design. You will build and maintain critical relationships with peers, customers, subcontractors, and vendors. You will provide technical direction to Computer Aided Design (CAD) technicians. You will perform a supporting role in the development of technical proposals and will provide preliminary design information for design-build proposals.
---The majority of your day would be spent working as a design team member developing designs for industrial facilities.---You will prepare formal calculations, as needed, and provide input to construction drawing packages.---You will perform the research required to provide solutions to unique challenges in electrical engineering related to, primarily, industrial facility design.---You will write technical documents to support engineering studies and infrastructure planning activities.---Clearly convey information to internal and external clients.---Feel a sense of pride in knowing that you are helping to design safe, high quality facilities that will meet critical national interests.---Travel occasionally, as required.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS---Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. If you have an advanced degree, that's even better.---Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial, nuclear, or industrial facility design.---Be registered as a licensed professional engineer in the State of Idaho or be able to become registered by comity within 6 months of employment. ---A U.S. Citizen with no dual-citizenship.---You'll need to be outgoing, organized and assertive. You'll also need to be able to network and build relationships with a wide variety of people.---You should have excellent English language skills, both written and verbal. ---Computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite.---Be a motivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting established deadlines.---A plus if you had ---Possess technical writing skills and be able to use these skills in the preparation of formal reports.---Due to security requirements, you will need to have or be able to obtain a DOE Level "L" security clearance within 6 months of hire.
PREFERENCES:---Utilities infrastructure planning experience.---Experience working with or for the Idaho National Laboratory.---Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, Visual Pro or AGI.---Experience with fire alarm design and/or instrumentation and controls design.
