Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an individual with honed skills in fabrication and assembly to support research operations and experiments as a Research Technician in the Nuclear Science & Technology (NS&T) directorate.

The NS&T Research Technician shall be proficient in various facets of research and development (R&D) and will provide support to multiple programs and projects within the NS&T directorate. The technician will be responsible for procurement, assembly, set-up, trouble-shooting and operation of research equipment and experiments within operated laboratories. Supporting the NS&T Operations organization as a Lab Space Coordinator (LSC) and participating with assessments, inspections, and various other operations support activities is expected of the technician.

Further, the technician will interface with scientists, engineers, and management on a daily basis to report status and results of on-going projects and will participate as a member of various R&D teams to provide input on the design, fabrication, and operation of research equipment. The technician is expected to also provide expertise in the areas of pressure system assembly, instrumentation and control systems, and glovebox and general laboratory practices.

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Relevant experience requires candidates to have experience in the following areas to be considered:
- Fabrication and assembly (hand and handheld power tools)
- Research & development and laboratory experience
- Gloveboxes and radiological work
