The Aqueous Separations & Radiochemistry department within INL's
Nuclear Science & Technology (NS&T) directorate has an exciting
career opportunity available for an experienced Project Engineer!
The engineer will specifically work in the area of High Assay Low
Enriched Uranium (HALEU) Technology.
The HALEU Technology Project Engineer reports to the Aqueous
Separations & Radiochemistry Department Manager and is responsible
to leverage extensive project management, project engineering, and
overall engineering competence to lead and/or support high-profile
projects and initiatives. The Project Engineer will ensure all
activities are properly integrated with NS&T mission work, are
conducted with the appropriate level of project quality rigor, and
are executed in accordance with INL Values and Expectations. This
work includes resource and budgetary planning, scheduling, and
coordination of high-visibility, multidisciplinary engineering
design, research, and operational activities in nuclear,
radiological, and non-radiological facilities.
Activities will require coordination across multiple organizational
boundaries in NS&T, within broader organizations of Battelle
Energy Alliance (BEA), and with external organizations including
international collaborating organizations.

BS degree in engineering, science, or related technology & 18-20
years relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in engineering,
science, or related technology and 16-18 years relevant

engineering design (functional and operational definition /
alternatives analysis, calculations, equipment selection, footprint
definition), research and development tasks, nuclear facilities,
remote processes, and hot cell operations.

which includes, waste management requirements and regulations,
nuclear safety, administrative requirements for nuclear operations,
work management, facility operation, remote system design,
fabrication processes, and interrelationships between these

package and change control process and systems.
Effective oral and written communication skills, expert
