Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Supervisor for the Fire
In this role you will serve as the front-line supervisor for fire
protection technicians located throughout various INL
This department consists of non-exempt certified fire protection
technicians and collective bargaining unit personnel. An
understanding of the strategic importance to collaborate with
building tenants, research programs, and landlord organizations is
critical for this position. You may have moderate involvement with
entities external to this working group.
You will support the company in collective bargaining unit
litigation and/or grievance matters.
Additional duties for the supervisor includes, but is not limited
* Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who perform the
inspection, testing and maintenance and/or repair of Fire
Protection Systems throughout INL.
* Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work
product. Is directly responsible for the achievement of designated
performance standards and promotes continuous improvement.
* Provides adequate training and resources to accomplish work
safely and efficiently.
* Assesses performance and conducts regular reviews with
* Works with management to implement established laboratory safety
and work control policies, procedures, and standards.
* Develops work teams and recommends professional development
opportunities for self and staff.
* Formulates goals, standards, and objectives for the group,
establishes a plan to achieve them and ensures proper management of

Must have NICET Level III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or
I&T of Water-Based Systems:
NICET Level III Fire Alarm Systems requires a minimum of 5 years of
fire detection and signaling systems experience, which MUST
include: At least 33 months of fire alarm systems experience,
including installation, maintenance, inspection, testing,
commissioning, technical system estimating and sales, plan
preparation, code compliance review, project management, and/or
technical business management. The three additional years from
Level II must include field experience, team leadership, and at
least one year in a fire alarm systems technical management
NICET Level III I&T Water-Based Systems requires a minimum of 5
years experience in the inspection and periodic testing of
water-based fire protection systems, including a full range of
inspection, testing, reporting, impairment management and
supervisory activities, and involving a variety of systems and
