The Reactor System Design and Analysis Division (RSD&A)
establishes new standards of emerging, innovative reactor design
through contributing technical expertise to unique and specific
advanced nuclear reactor design and deployment initiatives. Through
collaborative efforts, RSD&A enables research, design and
implementation of lab, partner and vendor initiatives. The work of
RSD&A is positioned to establish the nation as a global leader
in nuclear reactor technology.
The Advanced Reactor Core Design Department Manager leads a team of
reactor designer engineers to set an emerging standard in reactor
design innovation. As a leader in the RSD&A directorate, this
individual is responsible for building a culture of technical
excellence, collaboration, inclusion, and diversity with focus
toward the professional development of staff.
Hire staff, shape the vision, build plans and participate in the
deployment of new advanced nuclear reactors.
Familiar with emerging reactor designs by the advanced reactors
Responsible for leading, planning and execution of design
Identify and pursue opportunities to develop and apply advanced
reactor design techniques and analysis methods in support of DOE,
NRC, and industry reactor design efforts
Build a strong team of innovators through industry connections and

Degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field plus experience in
the nuclear enterprise:
o BS plus 12 years experienceo MS plus 8 years experienceo PhD plus
5 years experience (preferred) Related experience may include
demonstrating effective technical and leadership skills, including
management of technical programs, personnel management, staff
recruiting, and developing and implementing strategic plans.
Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment.
Strong preference for a history of attracting funding and
establishing relationships with potential sponsors of advanced
reactor designs and analysis activities, as well as development of
new analytical methods and knowledge of the emerging reactor
