If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for!Idaho National Laboratory is looking for a Work Management Programs trainer for Conduct of Operations, Work Control, and Conduct of Maintenance in nuclear, non-nuclear organizations. This team works a 4x10 schedule out of our Idaho Falls offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic vision and leadership for Work Management. Advise Work Management Programs Management on Operational Performance, trends, and associated corrective actions. Develop new concepts and techniques related to Work Management to improve performance.
  • Assist in the interpretation and establishment of a requirement basis for Work Management processes for the INL. Maintain effective relationships and represent the INL on matters with regulatory agencies (i.e., DOE-ID, DOE-HQ, OSHA, etc.) related to Work Management. Work with the appropriate INL organizations to build and maintain Work Management processes, procedures, and training materials that are relevant and specific for activities in nuclear, non-nuclear environments while sustaining and promoting performance excellence in work management.
  • Work with line managers and staff to identify Work Management expertise needed to respond to emerging laboratory needs.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for Work Management.
  • Identify risks that might jeopardize performance in Work Management. Create and implement strategically aligned and valuable performance measures/metrics to measure the effectiveness of Work Management programs/processes. Analyze performance information to measure achievement of laboratory annual performance goals and long-term objectives for Work Management. Work with INL mission centers to ensure Human Performance Initiatives (HPI) are incorporated into Work Management programs and policies.
  • Craft and develop training materials to include functional topics of Conduct of Operations, and act as a backup instructor for Work Management processes. Instruct approved training material using Laboratory training processes. Training delivery methods include, but are not limited to self-study, classroom, dynamic learning activities, and training simulation materials.
  • Work closely with INL Functional Leads to ensure the integration of requirements into the work management processes and tools where appropriate (e.g., Industrial Safety, Radiological Control, Environmental, Nuclear Safety, Waste Management, Hoisting & Rigging). Establish and implement coordinated solutions that will guarantee adherence with contract requirements and provide efficiency of operations. Conduct field observations and oversight of actual work being completed at INL. Participate on assigned committees to improve organizational products and services. Participate in individual continuous improvement activities benefitting the INL Work Management Programs. Participate in assigned Work Management Program related assessments


    Bachelors Degree plus 5 years relevant experience, OR Advanced Degree & 3 years OR 13 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree.Relevant experience includes:

    • Instructor, or teacher, in courses that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing
    • Evaluation of training programs
    • Experience as nuclear facility operator/supervisor.

      Preferred Requirements:

      • Must have a working knowledge of Conduct of Operations principles and experience using these principles in the operation and/or maintenance of nuclear and/or high risk facilities/processes. Must have knowledge and experience with development and/or implementation of lockout/tagout processes. Must have proven excellent presentation skills and zeal for educating students using creative and innovative methods. Must demonstrate ability to present training materials with a high degree of credibility and enthusiasm while maintaining high standards and professionalism. Be qualified or able to qualify as a Facility Area Supervisor under the INL Lockout and Tagout Program. Must have excellent written communications skills and demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Must be cognizant of and support company-wide implementation and maintenance of Voluntary Protection Program and Integrated Safety Management.
