Division Director. Our team works a hybrid 4x10 schedule located at
our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include: The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) is
seeking candidates for the Radioactive Material & Transportation
Division Director. INL is recognized as the lead national
laboratory for the United States Department of Energy, Office of
Nuclear Energy, providing much of the nuclear research,
development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear
innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of
personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to
perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design,
development and fabrication, and post irradiation analysis. MFC
plays a pivotal role in supporting the National Reactor Innovation
Center, which provides resources for testing, demonstration, and
performance assessment to accelerate the deployment of new,
advanced nuclear technology concepts. The MFC Radioactive Material
& Transportation Division Director oversees the strategic
direction, leadership, and management of the Remote Handled
Low-Level Waste (RHLLW) Facility, select facilities at Idaho
Nuclear Technical & Engineering Center (INTEC), Radioactive Scrap &
Waste Facility (RSWF), and various Treatment, Storage and Disposal
Facilities (TSDF) within MFC. This division is also responsible for
the MFC Waste Management Integration and Transport Operations.
Responsible to provide leadership and technical oversight to ensure
assigned facilities are operating within their defined safety basis
to ensure safe operations This position serves as a primary advisor
to the MFC Associate Laboratory Director on matters involving
radioactive waste, storage, and disposition for the current MFC
mission and future advanced nuclear technology concepts Provide
leadership and strategic direction to the establishment of an
enduring waste management strategy in support of the INL Laboratory
Plan Ensure Site Treatment Plan compliance and support meeting the
commitments of the Idaho Settlement Agreement Coordinate with
DOE-ID, NE, and EM as it pertains to materials and disposition for
our current and future nuclear mission Responsible for all areas of
human capital management including attracting a diverse technical
skill set needed to support mission, developing talent for
continued career growth, fostering an inclusive work environment,
managing personnel performance, and rewarding performance Minimum
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific
discipline and 15 years' relevant technical experience is required
Advanced technical degree and management experience is desired
Working knowledge of the following guidance/regulations is desired:
Radioactive waste requirements, DOE Order 435.1 Radioactive Waste
Management and hazardous waste management requirements of the
Resource Conservations and Recovery Act (RCRA, 40CFR 260-280)
Hazardous Materials Packaging and Transportation Safety, DOE O
460.1D Nuclear Safety Requirements (10 CFR 830) and DOE-STD-3009
INL Site Treatment Plan o Idaho Settlement Agreement.... This
position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department
of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Job
Information: Salary Grade 250 ($160,440 - $272,724) Chosen
applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to
