RESPONSIBILITIES

Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Cybercore Integration Center is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide technical oversight of various critical infrastructure-related projects that are part of Cybercore's rapidly expanding Energy Cyber portfolio. Cybercore's control systems experts, cyber researchers and threat analysts examine potential cyber threats to industrial control systems and develop mitigations and recommendations against those threats. In this role, you will have oversight responsibility for multiple ongoing projects sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE). Youll be expected to A) ensure that these projects are managed properly in terms of technical excellence, cost, and schedule, B) assign project tasks and performance goals, and C) advise on and execute major project decisions on behalf of Cybercore leadership. You will use your technical expertise in critical infrastructure cyber security to guide the technical direction of projects as well as to coordinate interaction and information sharing with stakeholders within the U.S., state and local governments, private/public industries, and academia. Additional responsibilities include the following:

Application of technical experience in the fields of cyber and industrial control systems, exercise project management skills to include planning and executing technical work for DOE, industry, and other sponsors as well as strategic alignment of opportunities within the portfolio, this position requires a self-starter and effective communicator who excels at identifying work scope and translating that into technical task definitions for members of various project teams.

Interface directly with sponsors within DOEs office of Cyber Security, Energy Security and Emergency Response (CESER) on existing and potentially new cyber security-related collaborations and advise INL on research opportunities in the area of cyber security against threats to the US electrical grid and other US critical infrastructures, have an understanding of the US energy sectors evolving control systems cyber security challenges and be able to use that understanding to provide technical direction for INL's energy-cyber portfolio projects.

Demonstrate outstanding communication skills which allow you to speak authoritatively with cyber technical experts while also having the ability to explain technical subject manner to non-technical professionals in an easily understood manner

Interface with Cybercore leadership and across divisions within INL's National & Homeland Security Directorate, maintain current relationships with DOE sponsors, particularly CESER, and foster new relationships with DOE and industry.

Cybercore harnesses disparate skill sets, using them to execute projects vital to US national security. Therefore, the person chosen for this position must enjoy and thrive in a team environment.

Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "Q" Security Clearance

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience or Advanced Degree and 8 years. Preferred educational backgrounds include project management, cyber security, computer sciences, and business/financial management

Must be able to work under pressure/address multiple complex tasks while maintaining quality of work and a professional interface

Note that the successful candidate is subject to review by INL's Project Management Committee prior to hiring

Preferred:

Experience managing projects related to cybersecurity

Familiarity with industrial control systems

Knowledge of the US energy sector and experience working on grid security-related projects
