The circulator collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. This position is at will.Job DutiesIdentifies, assesses and diagnoses problems through patient assessment and interactions; and evaluates actual or potential patient health problems.Assesses, plans and implements interventions for solving patient care problems.Formulates care plans for specific patients and documents the nursing process in patient's record.Evaluates patient response to interventions and modifies plan of care as needed to achieve health care goals.Develops and participates in educating patients, their families, or significant others about post discharge care programs.Initiates patient care meetings with the health care team to revise the plan of care as the patient's condition warrants.Maintains a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.Provides guidance and direction to members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care.Keeps current on advances in nursing care by participating in educational programs.Orients and educates new staff in nursing techniques and departmental procedures.Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocol and physicians' orders.Utilizes knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precaution; and initiates appropriate interventions in crisis situations.Participates in total quality management to positively affect patient and system outcomes to improve care.#INDHPRequirements:RequirementsAbilities & Skills:Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, prioritizes work to meet the changing needs of the departmentProficient oral and written communication skillsAptitude to apply and modify the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient careSound analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to recommend solutionsSkill to develop and maintain department quality assuranceKnowledge of modern clinical equipmentTalent to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, leadership and peersCapable of making decision concerning problems that might ariseAbility to react calmly and effectively in busy or emergency situationsHearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Able to use stethoscope and respond to verbal questionsSpeaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephoneVision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information printed sources and computer screenOther: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighting up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite healthcare service, including injections.Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluidsExperience & Education:High school diploma or equivalentGraduate of an accredited school of nursingMaintains current State of Wyoming Registered Nurse licensureMaintains CPR certificate for Health Care ProvidersACLS and PALS certifications, preferredKnowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient careTwo years acute or surgical nursing experience preferredComputer literate, experience with EMRNote: Position descriptions are intended to serve as a guideline for typical duties and requirements of a position, but are not inclusive.
