Description SHIFT: PRN SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem Registered Nurse PRN II Acute Rehab - 6th Floor PRN II Defined: (Earn extra $1.50/hour PRN Differential) plus other eligible shift differentials Work Requirements: 4 shifts per 4 week schedule (2 have to be on weekend) 1 Major Holiday (New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day) 1 Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) 2 Difficult to Staff Days: Super Bowl, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Fall Break (UEA), Halloween, Day After Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve NOTE: An assessment (that takes about 20 minutes to complete) will be automatically sent to you when you have applied for this position (unless you have completed it when applying for a previous similar type position). Responsible for admitting patients to the unit as needed and initiating individualized patient care plans Responsible to perform prescribed nursing interventions and procedures within state practice guidelines specific to care of post-acute patients. Responsible for evaluation and documentation of patient's response to medication, interventions, and procedures. Responsible for documentation of patient's functional status and condition as related to MDS and IRF-PAI scoring. Formulates and coordinates patient's plan of care based on assessment of patient needs and interdisciplinary treatment considerations. Capable of making independent decisions. Reports pertinent information to the patient's physician, the Director/Manager (DNS), Clinical Team Leader and/or Charge Nurse as indicated. Educates patients and families about necessary treatments, expectations for progress and discharge instructions. Safely and accurately administers medication and IV solutions. Follows standard precautions for all patients. Follows policies, procedures and standards that govern delivery of patient care in compliance with established state, federal, corporate, hospital, and nursing department regulations and accreditation standards. Promotes Patient's Bill of Rights. Complies with HCA's Code of Ethics and completes annual Code of Ethics update. Attends and is involved in inservices and attends at least 75% of staff meetings. Serves on at least one unit or hospital based committee and attends at least 75% of committee meetings. Completes 24 hours of education/inservice per year. Cross-trains to TCU and/or Rehab. Participates in walking rounds at beginning and end of each shift. Include patients/residents in this report and in their plans of care. Performs and/or is responsible to ensure that hourly rounding is done on each patient as outlined in the guidelines entitled, "Care of TCU/Rehab Patients". Communicates, using key words at key times, with customers and other staff. Participates in the "Walk-Awhile" program during assigned period. Qualifications Registered Nurse in Idaho or Compact License
