If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Nuclear Science and Technology group is seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a career as a Technical Project Lead: Special Projects Initiative. Responsibilities Include: Experienced technical program manager to support research on a range of expanding activities for National Security and Defense applications. The Special Projects initiative (SP-X) seeks to drive innovative concepts that could transform the nuclear energy paradigm in the U.S. and globally with a focus on National Security and Defense applications. The SP-X team is assembling high energy individuals with backgrounds in disruptive technology innovation, investment in high-risk, high-reward technologies, and innovation in the nuclear energy sector to enable "game changing" technological breakthroughs. Members of the SP-X team will develop relationships with customers in the National Security and Defense sectors and collaborate to understand their energy needs. Then, in collaboration with a technical team, they develop products in the nuclear sector to meet the customer's needs. The Technical Project Lead will support multiple activities including DoD's microreactor program PELE, DARPA's DRACO program, initial engagements with DoD on their supply chain activities, and explore applications that might exist in DoD space for the INL MARVEL reactor. Initial activities for PELE will include leading a small team of nuclear engineers to determine soil activation and vital shielding for a generic microreactor. It will be necessary to determine the customer's needs and work with the small team to deliver products to meet their needs. As such, the individual will need to be have an established track record in securing investment to development innovative technologies, proven ability to develop relationships with customers to understand their needs, and an extensive background in nuclear energy. Minimum Requirements: BS degree in engineering or science related field plus 8 years experience; or MS plus 6 years experience; or PhD plus a minimum of 4 years experience Demonstrated experience in performing technical project management with a record of successfully executing research and development and leading complex projects involving multiple organizations and building capabilities and infrastructure. Evidence of an established track record in securing investment to development innovative technologies Proven ability to develop relationships with customers to understand their needs. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE level "Q" security clearance therefore, US citizenship is required.
