Instrumentation & Dosimetry (ID) group is seeking forward-thinking,
professionals interested in exploring a career as an Indirect
Radiobioassay Technical Lead (IRTL)! The IRTL will provide
expertise to the ID program and sis responsible for the BEA
Indirect Radiobioassay Program and managing radioanalytical
laboratory subcontract(s). Additional responsibility for the role
- Coordinating data reporting processes and ensuring all indirect
radiobioassay data receives proper technical review and approval
prior to release to customers.
- Informing customers and management of any conditions that may
impact the quality of previously reported data or current data to
be reported; Implement corrective actions when required.
- Support the successful operation and DOELAP accreditation of
the BEA indirect radiobioassay program.
- Function as the indirect radiobioassay program subject matter
expert including radioanalytical techniques and processes.
- Develop/recommend changes in program processes and procedures,
- Ensure that onsite support practices meet the requirements of
the quality assurance plan and that quality control (QC) provision
requirements are implemented at required frequencies.
- Serve as quality assurance officer for direct radiobioassay
program by reviewing and approving direct radiobioassay procedures
based on current regulations, requirements and standards,
operational data, or personnel recommendations.
- Conduct quarterly assessments of direct radiobioassay
- Provide input for direct radiobioassay process improvement.
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years' experience, or an advanced
degree and 6 yrs. experience in chemistry, health physics or
closely related field.
- In-depth knowledge of low-level radiochemistry methods,
processes, equipment, and quality processes.
- US Citizenship required. Preferred Requirements:
- Formal additional professional-level education and/or
experience in internal dosimetrye. Job Information
