Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) National & Homeland Security group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Science & Technology Chief of Staff! Our team works on-site with a 9x80 schedule located at our EROB facility with every other Friday off! Responsibilities Include: Use strong leadership and problem-solving skills to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Associate Lab Director (ALD) for N&HS, making time, information, and decision-making more effective. Distill and organize complex or challenging information coming to the ALD, using in-depth knowledge of the laboratory, its operations, and respective business lines. Employ knowledge of lab strategy, planning, policies, operations, staff, and cultural norms, this role will make recommendations to the ALD related to organizing responses and action planning. Support streamlined access to the ALD for both leadership and staff by organizing and prioritizing critical and timely issues. Conduct research on emerging issues, understands important (internal and external) factors to consider, and reports/advises on proposed solutions. This position ensures continuity and quality of timely communications, coordinates planning and preparedness for executive meetings, events, and decision making, leads critical taskings to timely completion, and performs a variety of other functions to improve the time and effectiveness of the ALD, working closely with the ALD's Administrative Assistant and the COO. Bachelor's degree(s) and a minimum of five years' experience in technical writing/editing, project management, and/or relationship management role. Record of increasing responsibilities and outstanding job performance. This position requires the ability to acquire and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Preferred Requirements: Exceptional judgment and discretion, outstanding ability to establish relationships, and demonstrate political sensitivity to act effectively as a facilitator in a fast-paced environment. Poses well-developed project-management skills, be organized and focused, demonstrate initiative and attention to detail, and be persistent in following up to ensure the right results. Excellent verbal, analytical, interpersonal, and written skills are required. Must able to work in a culturally diverse environment. Job Information Salary Grade 190 ($68,820 - $113,644) / 200 ($79,140 - $130,572).
