Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking Cyber Security Technical Analyst. The position supports core functions within the INLs Cyber Security Program.
Functions for this position are:
Responsible for the oversight, operation and execution of cyber security vulnerability management functions and activities. Applies SME knowledge in solving complex cyber security problems. Analyzes Computer Network Defense policies and configurations and evaluates compliance with regulations and enterprise directives. Conducts authorized penetration testing on classified network assets. Collects, processes, preserves, analyzes, and presents computer-related evidence in support of network vulnerability mitigation for both classified and unclassified computing
Identifies and responds to cyber intrusions within INLs computing infrastructure. Implements and maintains security solutions in support of information security objectives including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), intrusion detection, e-discovery, and access management capabilities. Conducts vulnerability scans and recognizes vulnerabilities in security systems. Supports incident response, malware analysis, and host/network forensics activities.
Oversees and leads the performance of vulnerability scanning of the INL networks including the scanning of enclaves and the DMZ. Utilizes advanced technical expertise in responding to security incidents and tasks. Performs and directs security testing on new equipment and monitor/scan changes on existing equipment. Continuously monitors changes in the enclaves and DMZ through scanning and participation on the change control board. Develops advanced concepts and techniques in the cyber security vulnerability management program.
Leads and participates in internal and external assessments/audits of INLs Information Technology, Managed Services, Software as a Service, and all other services. Is responsible for the assessment of the system security protection measures and documentation for applicable systems. Makes recommendations for improvements in cyber security controls. Performs as the SME for the technical portion of Risk Assessments for services. Performs assessments of INL computing systems, enclaves, and services to ensure mandated controls have been implemented as required by Federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE):
Level 3 - BS and 5 years, MS and 3 years or a PhD and 2 years relevant experience.
Level 4 - BS and 8 years, MS and 6 years or PhD and 4 years relevant experience.
Or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR TRAINING:
An active DOE Q security clearance is desired.
