Successful outcomes are accomplished through the operation of standard and specialized stationary machining, welding, and fabrication equipment. Fabrication facilities include machining, cutting, welding, and mock-up assembly areas. Your job duties will include, but are not limited to:--- Supervising a multi-faceted organization of less than 30 employees, consisting of machinists, technicians, and welders. --- Providing guidance, leadership, and direction to organization/staff. --- Ensuring personnel staffing levels, skill mix, work schedules, and budgets are developed and implemented to meet the organization's assigned work requirements, consistent with laboratory objectives. --- Responsible for performance reviews, salary and promotion actions, training, travel, hiring, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary actions.--- Ensuring services are environmentally friendly, convenient, clean, affordable, reliable, efficient, safe, and of the highest quality. --- Ensuring that the end product meets all customer requirements and applicable laboratory/industry codes and standards.--- Providing leadership in areas of profit & loss management of group operations from a cost, quality, and delivery standpoint. --- Continuously improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, training, and qualifications. --- Developing the talent of employees through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning. --- Cultivating close relationships with customers to understand needs, respond to requests, and provide feedback in a timely manner. --- Implementing established policies and procedures and ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with applicable documents by providing daily supervision and oversight. --- Ensuring that the working environment is maintained in a safe, efficient, and clean condition.--- Ensuring that work control and hazard mitigation are appropriately implemented for all activities in accordance with Integrated Safety Management & Laboratory Excellence policies.--- Participating in and supporting meeting Fabrication Enterprise Interface Agreement (IAG) and applicable collective bargaining agreements (CBA). Bachelor degree plus 3 years experience in machining, welding, and fabrication; or an Advanced Degree plus 3 years relevant experience in machining, welding, and fabrication; or an Associates degree plus 7 years experience in machining, welding, and fabrication; or 11 years work experience in machining, welding, and fabrication in lieu of a degree. Also Required: Experience in CNC machining, welding, quality assurance and computer skills.Must possess and maintain a valid state driver---s license for duration of employment.Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a security ---L--- clearance for duration of employment.Must be capable of satisfactorily completing facility specific, continuous and professional development training as required for duration of employment.Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining medical qualifications so as not to limit satisfaction of the minimum requirements defined in this document for the duration of employment.Preferred:Knowledge of Mastercam/programming of 5-axis CNC or industry equivalent.
