Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Nuclear Digital Reactor and Development group is seeking a forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a career as a Manufacturing Engineer (Advanced Methods) Responsibilities Include: The Advanced Methods for Manufacturing Engineer will contribute towards deployment of new reactor/component designs, development, and demonstration. Fabrication and parametric validation with application of proper theories and concepts to support current reactor fleet sustainability and advanced reactor concepts. Publishing work in various customer-required reports as well as in the refereed literature including archival journals where appropriate. Participating in external professional activities or professional societies to the benefit of the work group and the INL as a whole. Minimum Requirements: BS and 2 years OR MS and 1 years OR PhD and 0 years relevant experience in nuclear, mechanical or related engineering fields. Able to work in a culturally diverse environment. Knowledge of nuclear reactor systems and their coupling with advanced manufacturing processes to analyze material properties (thermal, stress, thermodynamic, etc.) of reactor components or systems within operational and transient parametric windows. Demonstrate problem solving skills when performing research and analysis. Contributes to completion of achievements associated with specific work assignments. Publish results in internal reports and journal publications..... Preferred Requirements: Modeling experience with structural, thermodynamics, fabrication processes, machine learning, or programming languages is advantageous.
