SCHEDULE: Full-time


Registered Nurse -  PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Full Time - DAY SHIFT  3 (12 hour shifts)  0700-1930 plus call
 

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana.  EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital  and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

Position Type:  Full Time (Days) 3 - 12 hour shifts with responsibility to be on call one shift per week week and cover one 48 hour weekend call session per month.

Job Summary:
 
*Responsible for caring for patients immediately post anesthesia
 
*Assisting with a variety of specialized procedures.
 
*Must be able to operate and trouble shoot technical equipment and instruments.
 
*Demonstrates and performs assessment of the patient and assists in his/her return to a safe, physiological level after an anesthetic by providing safe, individual nursing care to patients of all age groups.
 
*Assesses patients for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs
 
*Assures that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.
 
*Requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families.
 
*Must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category and be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards,

Qualifications

 

  • Current Idaho State Nursing License or Compact
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced life Support (PALS) Certification within 180 days of start.
  • CPAN preferred
  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing
  • One year of medical/surgical nursing required, Critical Care experience preferred.
