Registered Nurse - Cardiac Rehab

PRN - provide coverage for vacation and/or additional staffing based on patient volume for typical M-F 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. work schedule


The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana.  EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital  and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

Hours of Operation for this Department Are:

Monday through Friday between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM or as required by the demands of the department.
PRN Defined:  Work minimum of one shift per two week pay period to assist with staffing for coverage of absences for staff planned/unplanned and/or increase in census.  The more you are available the more you can work if shifts are available.
General Description:
This position is responsible for the delivery of patient care in Cardiac Rehab using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  
Collaborates with other disciplines to assure patient safety, creates an environment of healing, and facilitates the achievement of exceptional outcomes for patients.
  • Receives inpatients and outpatients for the Cardiac Rehab program through physician order.
  • Assesses and evaluates the patient’s rehabilitation and educational needs, then formulates and documents the patient’s plan of care based on this assessment as well as findings from the chart
  • Monitors and documents the patient’s cardiopulmonary status during exercise.
  • Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms, determining need for intervention and physician notification.
  • Completes prescribed nursing interventions and procedures within State practice guidelines.
  • Accurately enters patient charges for services.
  • Provides pre-operative teaching for open heart surgery patients (inpatient and outpatient).
  • Participates in Cardiac Connection chest pain seminars and outreach education as needed. Facilitates amenities program for Open Heart Surgery patients.

*Requires a RN, from accredited school of nursing, plus 1 year hospital clinical experience.

 *Must maintain State Registered Nurse license or Compact License, CPR certification.  Basic arrhythmia course completion.  ACLS/PALS certification provided upon hire.

*Minimum of 1 year cardiac nursing experience
