SCHEDULE: Full-time

Registered Nurse - FULL TIME

Pre/Post Holding area for Cardiac Cath Lab

Work Schedule (M-F DAYS)

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana.  EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital  and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

Hours of Operation for this Department Are:
Monday through Friday between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM or as required by the demands of the department.

*Prepares each patient with appropriate pre-procedure instructions and obtains pertinent history by personal phone call.  
*Coordinates and communicates pre-admission information to appropriate staff, departments and physicians.  
*Completes pre and post op education.


*Evaluates and documents each patient’s response to intervention.


*Formulates and coordinates patient’s plan of care based on assessment of patient needs.


*Safely and accurately administers medication and IV solutions.


*Maintains and sustains professional ethics and promotes patient’s bill of rights.


*Ensures growth and personal development in the professional nurse role.


*Organizes and completes work in a professional manner.


*Understands and supports nursing philosophy and hospital mission as it applies within each department.


*Adheres to the Hospital Policies and demonstrates compliance with the Code of Conduct.


*Adheres to the Hospital’s safety policies and demonstrates safe practices in-patient care areas, the patient’s safety is always a primary concern.


*SPECIAL DEMANDS:  The cardiac cath lab is a very fluid operation and the procedures must be performed quickly and accurately.  Ability to greet and explain procedures to patients and their families and the timing of the procedures is needed to maintain a good work flow. 


*Procedures are never standardized and new situations constantly arise which necessitate independent decision making to meet the needs of the department.

*Position has frequent interaction with the different departments within Cardiology; the Physician, Cardiology staff, and Nursing staff.  Therefore the person must have maturity, and sensitivity, also the ability to take direction in stressful situation while remaining calm.

 *Requires a RN, from accredited school of nursing, plus 1 year hospital clinical experience.

 *Must maintain State Registered Nurse license or Compact License, CPR certification.  Basic arrhythmia course completion.  ACLS/PALS certification provided upon hire.
