Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is offering a five (5) week Patient Care Tech training program with continued employment. This training starts on November 1st. 

 

Training schedule: You will attend training Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm for 3 weeks, then 2 weeks of clinical orientation - 12 hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Upon completion of training you must be available to work 7 am - 7 pm OR 7 pm - 7 am  FULL TIME (3 12-hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends and holidays.

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Behavioral Health you will deliver high quality, patient centered care in a variety of services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. We consider ourselves a family who work hard to support each other and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance your skills/training and the needs of the department.
  • You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
  • You will obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests and ensure accuracy of all labels and a timely transfer of specimen.
  • You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
  • You will perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

 

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana.  EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital  and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.
