• Develops, recommends and implements programs, policies, and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical, and biological health hazards.
• Comprehensive understanding and application of industrial hygiene principles, theories, and concepts needed to support assigned work organizations.
• Works independently with limited supervision, conferring with supervision on unusual matters.
• Routinely serves as a team leader while managing multiple tasks or projects within increasing scope and risk.
• Perform IH Exposure Assessments (EAs) and sampling activities to characterize employee exposures to hazardous agents.
• Document EAs and sampling activities. Communicate EA and sampling data results to management and employees.
• Review work control documents. Identify and analyze industrial hygiene hazards associated with planned work activities, including work on problems of diverse scope.
• Establish appropriate hazard controls and mitigations for identified hazards.
• Attend work schedule and planning meetings.
• Assist in the development of facility/project work control and procedure documents.
• Conduct work place assessments, including area/job walk-downs.
• Evaluate the implementation of programs and policies.
• Prepare assessment plans and evaluation criteria. Coordinate participation with other safety fields.
• Communicate identified issues and concerns to the appropriate management teams.
• Work with management to determine solutions and prepare corrective actions.
• Enter and manage issues and findings in the company issues management system.
• Provide follow up with management regarding implementation of necessary corrective actions.
• Support and use the established Integrated Safety Management System principles to ensure work is conducted safely in accordance with Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.

  • Level 2-Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene school or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification plus 2 yrs of relevant experience in Industrial Hygiene or a Masters of Science from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene degree/ or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification plus 1 yrs of relevant experience in Industrial Hygiene or a PhD from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification.
  • Level 3 -Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene school or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification plus 5 yrs of relevant experience in Industrial Hygiene or Masters of Science from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene degree/ or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification plus 3 yrs of relevant experience in Industrial Hygiene or a PhD from an ABET accredited Industrial Hygiene or degree recognized by the ABIH for professional certification and 3 years of relevant experience.
