If you are looking for a rewarding and fulfilling career and enjoy fast paced environments this will be a good fit for you.This position requires full time availability.Clinical StaffFull-timeReports to: Office Lead/Management Team*JOB SUMMARY: *Medical Assistant (MA) is primarily responsible for assisting providers with patient care, both clerical and clinical. MA's must convey a positive image of the clinic to patients as well as the general public. Basic clinical responsibilities include: rooming of patients, collection of vital signs and complete health history, collection and processing of routine testing with routine review and discussion with provider. The MA must be comfortable with ordering of labs, medications, advanced imaging and other requests of the provider. The MA must have detailed knowledge and working experience creating and maintaining sterile fields. The MA must provide high caliber customer service over the phone, with patients in clinic, alongside the provider and with other clinical staff. The MA must work well under pressure and possess excellent time management skills. The MA is required to perform CLIA waived moderate testing. The MA must have understanding of and follow HIPAA guidelines.MA's must have knowledge of healthy connection referrals/eligibility, prior authorizations, checking patients in/out at the front desk and collecting pertinent information. Additional responsibilities include: scanning and discharging, answering phones, some coding/billing, obtaining medical records, and IV placement.*QUALIFICATIONS: **Education/Certification: *Current BLS, PALS/ACLS, Valid driver's license.*Experience*: 1-2 years experience in medical office preferred. Previous primary care experience is preferred.*Equipment/Technology: *Basic computer and typing skills. Operate vital sign monitoring devices and manual BP equipment.*Language/Communication: *The ability to read and communicate effectively in English.Bilingual is a plus. Must posses proficiency in understanding and using medical terminology.*Mathematical Skills: *General Math skills.*Mental Capabilities: * Ability to make frequent and consistent sound judgments, despite personal involvement. Organizational skills are critical and must be a functional multi-tasker, team player and a critical thinker.*Interpersonal: * Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible.*Performance: *Must have the ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Excellent customer service skills are required. Recognition of and understanding of the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity. Ability to carry out necessary duties and responsibilities as described.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * For physical demands of position, including vision, hearing, repetitive motion and environment, see the description following.*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * - Patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include, but are not limited to: checking schedules and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assisting patients with walking, transfers, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, obtain and review of patient history, performing screenings per provider guidelines, assisting provider with procedures, charting, and patient education, - Proficiency in collection of specimens; ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples. - Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and exceptional customer service. - Adherence by staff to all policy and procedures. - Provides age appropriate care. - Monitoring, reporting and management of patient and staff incidents. - Monitoring and management of patient and physician satisfaction results. - Following standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. - Working knowledge of and adherence to sterile technique .
