Idaho Falls Downtown Development Corporation (IFDDC) is looking for a part-time Communications & Event Coordinator. This position will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure branding and content creation is consistent, inspired and effective. This position is key to the branding strategy of IFDDC and will have support from the Social Media Specialist. IFDDC hosts multiple events throughout the year to support the economic vibrancy of downtown Idaho Falls and raise funds for the organization. This position will also involve a healthy amount of event planning, execution and community relationship building.The Communications role of this position will require writing, promotion, and distribution of marketing collateral that supports the organization's general awareness and audience-building strategies. Content gathering, including photography on-going will need to be constantly organized and shared with the Social Media Specialists.This role is both strategic and tactical, requiring the ability to be a big-picture thinker while managing all the details. The right fit for this role will be an individual who is comfortable juggling multiple projects from beginning to end, working on different timelines, exceptionally organized, and a detail-oriented self-starter who has outstanding written and verbal communication skills. This position works with all staff of the IFDDC to coordinate organizational storytelling to various stakeholders in the historic downtown core of our city. QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years of management and/or proven leadership experience Experience managing budgets Excellent written & verbal communication skills Proven organizational skills & attention to detail Ability to manage large, multi-layered projects and meet deadlines Self-motivated inspired and creatively minded Ability to work independently when needed, learn quickly, and problem-solve Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Capabilities with website platforms such as WordPress and Canva, and email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact and Mail Chimp Ability to provide exceptional customer service Availability to work weekends and special events CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and produce content for the organization's social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Follow the organization's social media strategy. Photography Assist in the development of printed collateral specific to events, special promotions, and fundraisers. Prepare and manage the distribution of marketing media including press releases, radio PSA's, slideshow presentations, print and digital advertisements, direct mail, and other. Help establish marketing budgets and manage spending to stay within those budgets. Establish and maintain relationships with newspapers, television, radio, news stations, local organizations, and outside vendors that can further the mission of the organization. Establish and maintain digital marketing presence such as management of our Google Ads account, sponsored content, podcast concepting and production, video concepting and production, and online community calendars. Provide copy for all marketing-related materials as requested. Design print and digital collateral with provided assets. Assist with merchandising/promotional items as requested. Recap events to ensure goals are met OTHER When necessary, support the IFDDC staff by answering phones, answering questions related to downtown and events, and providing customer service related to parking questions.
