Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) ATR Radcon Operations group is
seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a
career as a Radiological Control Technician!
The Radiological Control Technician applies a thorough knowledge of
a wide range of radiological control principles, procedures,
requirements and related instrumentation sufficient to:
- Provide work coverage & oversight for maintenance, operational,
& routine work that involves radioactive materials and radiation
- Monitor for radiation, contamination & airborne radioactivity
in the workplace. Ensure compliance with radiological safety
- Recommend radiation safety related improvements to work
procedures for Operations and Maintenance, or evaluate and provide
recommendations on proposed hazard mitigation techniques and
- Issue "stop-work" orders when required;
- Recommend additional training or changes to radiological
control procedures to correct deficiencies;
- Effectively utilize and manage work time;
- Demonstrate professionalism as well as a strong work
- May mentor or monitor work of more junior staff and
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 36 months experience as a Senior Radiological Control
Technician or Health Physics Technician.
- Technical Certification or equivalent in Radiation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L security
- DOE Core Certification preferred.
