Vision: INL will change the world's energy future and secure our critical infrastructure.Responsibilities Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Packaging and Transportation Shipper. In this role you will direct packaging and shipping activities of Hazardous Material through the use of technical knowledge, training, and expertise for the Idaho National Laboratory. You will have overall responsibility to ensure the implementation of DOT, NRC, DOE and EPA regulations while shipping hazardous, radioactive, and waste material to and from INL facilities in a safe and efficient manner. Duties in this role will include, but are not limited to:- Coordinating all Specific Manufacturing Capability shipments and serve as the liaison between Idaho National Laboratory and the Office of Secure Transportation for all transportation related functions. - Preparing and classifying all necessary documents to accompany shipments of hazardous, radioactive, and waste materials. - Reviewing shipments of hazardous materials to ensure compliance with all pertinent DOT packaging and transportation regulations. - Coordinating multiple shipments between INL projects, on-site and off-site locations.- Conferring with INL staff, vendors, and customers to coordinate shipping activities that satisfy INL obligations. - Serving as the primary shipper for classified and sensitive shipments for INL programs. - Interpreting rules and regulations to meet DOT, NRC, DOE, EPA and state requirements to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for the packaging transportation of hazardous materials (including radioactive and waste material). - Preparing shipping documents to accompany shipments of hazardous, radioactive, and waste materials. Bachelor's degree plus 0-2 years relevant experience, or Advanced degree plus 1-2 years relevant experience required. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have greater than 2 years hazardous materials shipping experience. Must have greater than 2 years' experience/background in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, or International Civil Aviation Organization regulations. This position requires a DOE "Q" clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DOE "Q" clearance. Must be able to attain and maintain a DOE/IATA/ICAO Shipper's Certification. Must have a strong background (4 or more years) in customer service.
