Job InformationJob Title: MFC Building SuperintendentGrade: 190Org: Utilities & InfrastructureContact: Joshua.Fullmer@inl.govWork Location: Idaho Falls, ID (MFC, 4x10 schedule)Mission/Vision StatementEmpowering the Nation's Energy FutureMission: Discover, demonstrate and secure innovative nuclear energy solutions, other clean energy options and critical infrastructure.Vision: INL will change the world's energy future and secure our critical infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesThe Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking applicants for a Building Superintendent reporting to the Utilities and Infrastructure Support Department Manager.INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design, development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.The Building Superintendent is responsible for non-nuclear and radiological buildings, structures, systems, and grounds. Serves as the primary point of contact between tenants (customer) and MFC Utilities and Infrastructure Support organization.Day-to-day Functions:* Manage and maintain facility related equipment and systems (i.e., HVAC, mechanical, electrical, exterior/interior structural, etc.) and ensure safe and reliable operation* Ensure operational and maintenance activities maintain compliance with defined facility safety basis. Responsible to understand potential hazards and lead efforts to mitigate hazards* Understand facility operational limits and compliance requirements associated with those parameters of operations* Review lessons learned and ensure similar conditions/hazards have been identified and mitigated in their respective structures, systems, and components for assigned facilities* Review, approve, and authorize work to be conducted to assigned facilities, equipment and systems. Ensure appropriate work control is identified for work activities* Must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar system used across industry. Verify required action/information on completed work orders* Responsible to interface with a variety of work groups, i.e., mechanical, electrical, planning, engineering, construction, etc., in order to accomplish work activitiesRequirements:Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "L" security clearanceBachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience or Master's Degree and 3 years. Relevant experience includes industrial maintenance, facilities operations, engineering and prior building/facility supervisory experience.Preferred degree disciplines: Engineering, Facilities Engineering or related technical disciplineMust have good written and oral communications skills, diplomacy and interpersonal skillsAbility to write correspondence and effectively present information to management staffDemonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of building and support systems for commercial or industrial facilities, i.e., HVAC, mechanical, electrical, exterior/interior structural, etcMust have a demonstrated knowledge of methods, processes and integration of all systems within buildingExperience/knowledge to manage small projects, develop cost estimates, material take-offs, project scheduling, quality control and invoice reviews. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsAbility to represent the Utilities and Infrastructure Support Department as the customer when interfacing with project and construction management on large projectsSelective Service RequirementsTo be eligible for employment at INL males between ages 18 and 25 must register (or must have registered) with the Selective Service System (SSS).
