Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Cyber Security
Architect to join the Security Administration Team.
- Leads and participates in the design and architecture of cyber
related information data storage, manipulation and retrieval.
- Leads and participates in the design, building and integration of
data from disparate resources across the enterprise while ensuring
the information is accessible and performance is optimized.
- Leads and assists in the design and implementation of a tiered
data management platform with several functional areas.
- Provides advanced support to end users and other engineers in
data related tasks.
- Provides oversight and works with existing Splunk
- Evaluates emerging data technologies and develops new management
tools in support of INL cyber security data initiatives.
- Manages special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/or
Bachelors of Science plus 5 years relevant experience or Advanced
Degree and 3 years relevant experience. Must be a US Citizen. Must
have or be able to obtain a Q clearance.
Must also have the following:
- Foundation in systems development: should understand the system
development life cycle, software project management approaches, and
requirements, design, and test techniques.
- Troubleshooting existing infrastructure, including configuration
problems, deployment problems, role-based access control issues and
- Breadth of knowledge in established and emerging data
- Understanding of data modeling and data store implementations.
This includes RDBMS and NoSQL
- Familiar with data analytical concepts. Machine learning or
advance analytics knowledge is not required but beneficial.
- Basic Linux Operating system fundamentals.
- Shell scripting experience.
- Ability to astutely operate in the organization: should be able
to generate respect and influence, technologically neutral,
articulate, persuasive, and enthusiastic.
- Desired experience with Splunk administration and deployment.
- Desired experience with SIEM software.
Special Requirements and/or Training:
Must be knowledgeable of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Cyber
Security controls and requirements and Department of Defense (DOD)
Security Technical Implementation Guides. The Information
Technology (IT) field and specifically the Cyber Security
discipline are rapidly changing environments. The employee is
required to obtain specialized training and certification in IT and
Cyber Security disciplines. The specific training and certification
will vary based upon current technologies and threat conditions.
Examples of the training and certification are Certified
Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and SANS Global
Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
