The Analysis Department at Idaho National Lab is seeking a Control
Systems Cybersecurity Analyst for INL's National & Homeland
Security Directorate, Cybercore Integration Center. In this role,
you will help lead cutting edge technical analysis of cyber threats
against the industrial control systems that form the very backbone
of our nations critical infrastructure (e.g., our electrical grid,
oil & gas pipelines, nuclear energy facilities, military
installations and transportation networks).
You will leverage an understanding of the analytic, cybersecurity,
and engineering disciplines, and draw from open source and
classified intelligence information to draft technical reports,
briefings, white papers, strategies and other products that help
inform US Government agencies, the Department of Defense, and
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong team-oriented ethic as
they will contribute to collaborative projects comprised of one or
more other analysts, control systems subject matter experts, power
engineers, and cyber researchers to execute a mix of both short-
and long-term technical projects. Furthermore, Cybercore seeks
analysts that are self-motivated and willing to proactively
identify and execute work.
Analysts are expected to distill complex technical information into
concise written reports and briefings for non-technical audiences,
therefore in-depth knowledge of engineering practices (electrical,
mechanical, or power) or computer science principles are desired.
This position requires strong communication skills (both written
and verbal), a willingness to learn new ways of thinking, and a
thirst for continuous learning. Analysts will be called upon to
inform high levels of the US Government concerning issues involving
cybersecurity for critical infrastructure and control systems.
This is an exciting time to be in the field of control systems
cyber threat analysis, as protecting our industrial control systems
from foreign cyber-attacks is now recognized by both government and
industry as one of the nations highest priority challenges.
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a
Department of Energy (DOE) Security Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience or Master's
and 1-3 years or Doctorate and 0-2 years.
Education or professional experience with industrial control
systems or cybersecurity for operational technology environments is
highly desired. Relevant experience includes intelligence analysis
and intelligence report writing for federal, state or local

systems in the oil & gas and electric industries, maritime
engineering, or military-related industrial control systems will be
viewed very favorably. Applicants who, in addition to the skills
and experience listed above, also possess language skills in

Must have a demonstrated record of excellent writing and verbal
communication skills combined with proficiency in a technical
